How to apply Agora no-code to IoT

“We built the company two years ago on the observation that in companies of a given size and in societies, the information system is very fragmented. To help the operators, Agora Software has chosen to turn on the natural language. Its solution is then integrated into the platform’s connectors to make the applications communicate with each other. Thus, in agriculture in particular, users can directly interrogate their IoT probes about the state of the soil in the form they desire. Example: “What is the soil moisture content of plot X?”

For Thierry Grenot, no code has a triple advantage: it allows operators to participate in operations and quickly provide them with functions that meet their exact needs. For example, for the local authority, this allows technicians not to turn on the heating of the school when there is no classroom or not water the green space on rainy days. “It seems logical, but automating these processes is complex, since it involves IoT sensors, along with other mechanisms in a computer system. Many abandon the idea in the face of programming complexity. Agora Software, which has chosen to go international since its inception, has been in the process of publishing for a few months in France and Canada in the communities, which is a strong focus of its strategy. Its solution is marketed in SaaS, monthly or annually, but also by purchasing the license for several years. “Customers generally test the POC first, which costs a few thousand euros per year, before carrying out large-scale deployments, which in turn require an investment of between 10,000 and 50,000 euros,” defines Thierry Grenot. Deploying its solution to high-bandwidth connected objects is a long-term goal of Agora Software.

Agora Software is not the only one on the market highlighting the advantages of no-code. “No-code is not new, it is the basis of IFTTT or Zapier. Microsoft or Orange also offer no-code integration. What sets us apart in the market is our position in the OT, i.e. operational processes when other actors focus on IT operations,” he said. Thierry Grinot points out.

A selling point that more and more publishers are championing on their platform. Energisme, for example, notes that its IoT platform has been running without code since its inception. “No-code is not intended to replace code on the platform but to provide opportunities for companies to focus on their skills while accessing data through algorithmic automation,” CEO Thierry Chambon believes.
